For this year's limited-edition release, Master Blender Trudiann Branker crafted a blend of rums that marries the traditional craftsmanship of a column still with the artistry of a copper pot still. Aged for 5 years in Tawny Port casks, the column-distilled rums intertwine with those double distilled in copper pot stills, maturing for 14 years in American whiskey casks before a final refinement in Tawny Port casks for an additional year.

The outcome is a luxurious and intricate blend boasting a bouquet of vanilla, caramel, and almond on the nose, while the palate reveals layers of cherry, dried fruit, oak, prune, and almond. Bottled at a robust cask strength of 55% ABV, Mount Gay: The Port Cask Expression remains unaltered by chill filtration, preserving its opulent aromas and natural hue. Limited to a global release of just 6,570 bottles, each one is a testament to Mount Gay's dedication to quality and craftsmanship.

Stephanie Moreno, Distiller, describes the experience as intense, with a fusion of tropical and cooked fruits underscored by a robust oak presence. The palate unfolds with sweet notes of butterscotch, vanilla, and hints of milk chocolate, culminating in a tangy, slightly bitter finish that adds depth to the rum.
