As a condition of using senseoftaste.com.au (website), you agree to comply with and be subject to the following terms and conditions of use.
1. Ordering through the Sense of Taste website
When placing an order on our website, you confirm that all the details you have provided in completing the order are true and correct.
It is a condition of purchase that you verify that you are 18 years of age or over. If you do not confirm that you are 18 years or over, your order will not be processed.
Star Group Management accepts orders as an agent on behalf of Sense of Taste and those orders may be fulfilled by licensed Sense of Taste outlets in Queensland.

2. Delivery
In these terms, "deliver" and "delivery" of products include the collection of them under our Pick Up option from your nominated Sense of Taste store.
3. Personal information
Star Group Management Pty Ltd trading as Sense of Taste (ABN 98 153 191 498) collects your personal information when you place an order with Sense of Taste.
Our Privacy Policy provides details of how Sense of Taste collects, uses and discloses your personal information and how you can access your personal information or raise a complaint about the management of your personal information.
4. Address for Delivery
You agree that the delivery address for your order is:
- The address you gave for delivery as part of your order
- Or any other address we may subsequently agree to accept as the delivery address provided by you
We will not deliver unless all requested delivery details are provided upon placing your order.
5. Order pre-conditions
It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under 18 years of age.
You agree that we may reasonably rely on any person who:
- Takes receipt of your ordered products, as being legally authorised for that purpose.
Upon collection of your order, the recipient may be required to provide a valid ID (including name, photographic ID and date of birth) for age verification. And their Full Name, DOB and ID type may be recorded as confirmation of their age being verified at the time of delivery occurring.
If any requests for verification are not met, we may not allow for pick-up of your order.
You must not purchase any products from us for the purposes of resale to any third party. If we have a concern with the quantity of products you have ordered from us or that you may be otherwise purchasing products for resale, we may contact you when you place the order or within a reasonable time after you submit your order to obtain further information. We reserve the right to cancel your order if we reasonably believe that you have purchased products for resale purposes.
6. Retail Limits
We also reserve the right to set retail limits. An up-to-date list of Sense of Taste’s retail limits per customer, per category, per day can be viewed here. These retail limits are subject to change at any time, and we reserve the right to cancel items from your order if they are exceeding our limits. You will be refunded for any items not supplied. We may also provide you reasonable notice of any special temporary purchase limits on certain products from time to time.
7. Delivery Times
We will endeavour to deliver within the times nominated and paid for at the time of your order. By placing an order, you accept the risk that occasionally under circumstances out of our control, deliveries may be delayed.
8. Delivery Returns/Non-Collection
If we attempt to deliver your order and are unable to complete the delivery for any reason, the items will be returned to either our store or delivery depot. You or the intended recipient will be notified of the failed attempt via SMS or email.
To arrange a new delivery, you may:
- Use the link provided in the SMS notification; or
- Submit a request through our Contact Us form.
If we do not receive a response within 5 days of our initial notification, we reserve the right to cancel the order and process a refund.
Please note, we may also cancel and refund your order if delivery is not possible due to circumstances outside our control. This may include, but is not limited to: incomplete or incorrect address details, restricted access to the delivery location, or failure to meet the delivery conditions outlined in Clause 5 above.
In regard to failing to collect an in-store Pick-Up order, if you do not advise us via our Contact Us form within a week of the nominated collection date, we reserve the right to cancel and refund your order. We will make our best attempt to contact you via email or phone prior to the cancellation.

9. Cancellations by Us
We may initiate a cancellation before the collection of the ordered products for pickup orders.
We will give you reasonable notice of the cancellation and refund by contacting you via phone, text, or email. The circumstances in which we may cancel (acting reasonably) and refund your order are as follows:
- If any of the ordered products are unavailable;
- If your order is in breach of any other terms, or contrary to any person's rights or the law; and
In the event there is any error in the description of any ordered products or their price as advertised by us, we will contact you so that you can advise whether you would like to continue with the order or whether you would like a refund for the affected products.
10. Cancellations by You
You agree that you cannot make changes to an order after it has been placed. If you wish to cancel your order so that you may place another amended order, please get in touch through our Contact Us form.
You may cancel all or part of your order at any time before it enters the dispatch processing stage. In this case, a full refund will be issued for the cancelled items, including delivery fees—provided there are no remaining items in the order scheduled for shipment.
Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation is only possible at our discretion. While we will do our best to accommodate your request, we cannot guarantee cancellation once the dispatch process has begun.
If your order has already been delivered but you no longer wish to keep it, a return may still be possible. Please contact us through our Contact Us form, and we’ll guide you through your return options.

11. Delivery Documentation
We may maintain records related to the delivery of your order. These records can include verification details—such as those outlined above—and may also involve capturing a photo at the point of delivery. These records will be used and shared only for legitimate purposes, such as confirming delivery, managing operations, fulfilling legal record-keeping obligations (including under liquor licensing laws), and supporting law enforcement where required.
12. Transfer of Risk
Once your order has been delivered in accordance with your instructions, the risk of any loss, damage, or theft passes to you. This applies even if the delivery is made to an unattended location, or if the delivery is accepted by someone not explicitly authorised by you.
13. Title and Place of Supply
You agree that title to the products you purchase (and the place of our supply of those products to you) occurs at the place where we dispatch the products to your order. We do not supply alcohol to you from places which are not licensed under applicable alcohol licensing laws. Immediately on us making a refund to you for any products (less any amount you have agreed we may deduct, for example under "Delivery returns/non-collection" set out at clause 8 above or “Cancellations by us” and “Cancellations by you” set out at clauses 9 and 10 above) you agree that the title in those products shall pass back to us.

These terms are in addition to, and not limited to additional Pick Up information we provide.

15. Changes to Terms & Conditions
Sense of Taste reserves the right to update, suspend, or discontinue these Terms and Conditions at any time. This may include adjustments to delivery fees or other related policies.
Any such changes will be communicated in advance via our website at senseoftaste.com.au. By continuing to use our services or placing orders through our website after the notice period has ended, you are deemed to have accepted the revised Terms and Conditions.
16. Free Delivery
Free Delivery is available only on items marked with a ‘Free Delivery’ label at the time of purchase. If your order includes both eligible (Free Delivery) and non-eligible items, standard delivery fees will apply to those products not marked for Free Delivery.
Please note: for items eligible for Free Delivery, the discount will be reflected on the final payment page during checkout.
17. Website Content
Sense of Taste may make changes to the materials and services on this website, or to the products and services described in them, at any time without notice. The materials and services on this website may at times be out of date, and Sense of Taste makes no commitment to update the materials and services on the website under any set timeframe.
18. Disclaimer
Liability Disclaimer
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- To cancel your service contract with us; and
- To a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
Without excluding, restricting or modifying the rights and remedies to which you may be entitled under these consumer guarantees provisions of the Australian Consumer Law or our liabilities under those provisions:
- You acknowledge that our sites (including this website and all mobile applications) are provided "as is" and that we do not make any warranty or representation as to the suitability of the sites, anything (including content and websites) to or from which the sites are linked or any product for any purpose;
- We exclude all other implied terms and warranties, whether statutory or otherwise, relating to the Sites, the subject matter of our agreement with you and all content to or from which the sites are linked;
- We will not be liable to you for indirect and consequential loss arising from or connected to our agreement with you in contract, tort, under any statute or otherwise (including, without limitation, for loss of revenue, loss of profits, failure to realise expected profits or savings, loss or corruption of data and any other commercial or economic loss of any kind) unless such loss arises as a result of our own negligence or wilful misconduct;
Our liability to you for loss or damage of any kind arising out of our agreement with you or in connection with the relationship established by it, is reduced to the extent (if any) that you cause or contribute to the loss or damage. This reduction applies whether our liability is in contract, tort (including negligence), under any statute or otherwise.
19. Promotions
Promotional Voucher Codes
Promotional vouchers cannot be:
- Exchanged for cash;
- Used in conjunction with any other offer.
- Re-used on another transaction; or
- Partially used across multiple orders
We may from time to time offer promotions which will be subject to their applicable terms and conditions at the time of the offer or promotion (and are to be read in conjunction with these Sense of Taste Website terms and conditions).
Online Exclusive Promotion Terms & Conditions
Online-only promotional offers are available exclusively through senseoftaste.com.au and are valid for the promotional period specified on the relevant banners or promotional material. Offers apply while stocks last and cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotions unless otherwise stated. Sense of Taste reserves the right to modify or cancel any promotion at any time without prior notice.
