Sutton Grange Aglianico
Sutton Grange Aglianico
Notes from the producer:
From some of the first plantings of Aglianico in Australia (2004) comes this special release. We only make one barrel of Aglianico, and this is the third vintage that has seen this exciting varietal made as a stand-alone wine available to our club members.
Known in Italy as the "Nebbiolo of the South", Aglianico has found its home in our granitic soils. Originating in Campagna, when elevated to a fine wine, this grape produces wonderful high acid and high tannin reds. Make sure you decant this bottle prior to drinking, as it will really benefit from opening up. We even found that drinking the next day revealed more layers of flavour!
Nose: Blueberry and cherry fruit aromas and a rose petal perfume on the nose
Palate: Bright juicy fruit flavours on the palate with a succulent mid-pallet. A medium bodied wine, best enjoyed with food.
Finish: Great structural tannins frame a long finish.
