Gibson Duke Grenache
Gibson Duke Grenache
Notes from the producer:
This wine is a special project of second generation at Gibson, Adam, whose nickname is “Duke.” Adam claims the reference comes from playing local football, where a fiery competitiveness often saw him being “dukes up” on the field. The inconvenient truth behind it however is the mispronunciation of his own middle name - Luke - as a toddler.
The 2020 Duke Grenache is made from both Barossa & Eden Valley fruit, and has a bright ruby red color with a pale ruby hue. Aromas of violet, raspberry, red cherry and hints of blue fruit and persimmon are present on the nose. The palate shows plenty of soft fleshy red berried fruit, with flavors of cherrystone, satsuma plum, cranberry and herbs. The wine finishes with soft, gentle tannins that provide a rounded finish.
Enjoy a glass of Duke Grenache with grilled veggies or an Asian stir-fry.
