Tasting notes from the producer:

The Villa Trasqua Estate sprawls across 120 hectares of land, dedicating 50 hectares to the cultivation of Chianti Classico and IGT appellation wines. Additionally, ten hectares, boasting over 3000 trees, are allocated for the production of extra virgin olive oil, while the remainder comprises woodlands and arable land. Positioned on south-facing plateaus, the vineyards receive optimal sunlight exposure and insulation.

Established in 1965, Villa Trasqua is currently under the ownership of Hans Hulsbergen, a passionate Dutchman who acquired the estate in 2001. Overseeing winemaking operations is Swiss oenologist Andreas Stössel, boasting more than 20 years of Tuscan winemaking experience, having previously managed Valtellina in Radda before joining Villa Trasqua.

The grape varietals utilized for Chianti Classico production include Sangiovese, while the Trasgaia IGT (Supertuscan) features a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Notably, the Trasgaia, a refined and austere wine aged for 24 months in French oak barriques, consistently garners 2 Bicchieri in Italy's esteemed wine guide, the Gambero Rosso. Meanwhile, the Traluna, composed of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Alicante Bouschet, presents as a lightly oaked, fruit-forward, and approachable wine.
