The GlenAllachie Present Edition 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml is a limited release bottling in celebration of Master Distiller Billy Walker’s half-century long career in the whisky industry. The first in The Past, Present and Future Series, this bottling represents Walker's past when he made a name for himself by releasing heavily sherried expressions to great acclaim. A combination of nine 2005 vintage Spanish Sherry butts, this 100% Sherry matured malt is overflowing with rich espresso, heather honey, glazed figs and sweet spices. Presented at natural cask strength of 57.1%, with no added colouring and non-chill filtered for maximum flavour, this limited release of 4,000 bottles worldwide is a must-try. On the nose, it offers waves of walnuts, heather honey and subtle dried fruits, followed by bursts of toasted coffee, orange peel and cinnamon sticks. On the palate, it offers lashings of fig syrup, caramelized muscovado sugar and roasted pine nuts with notes of heather honey, crystallized ginger and dried apricots. The deep mahogany colour complements the rich and complex flavour profile.
