Tasting notes from the producer

101% 101-year-old single-vineyard shiraz grown on the Henschke Mount Edelstone Vineyard in the Eden Valley wine region, managed with organic and biodynamic practices. Matured in 34% new and 66% seasoned (81% French, 19% American) oak hogsheads for 18 months prior to blending and bottling. Bottle aged in the Henscke Cellar for museum release.

Dark crimson with bright hues. Lifted aromas of sage, bay leaf, black pepper, brown baking spices, plum pudding and blue fruits are woven with charcuterie and earthy notes. The palate is rich and complex with layers of blackcurrant, blackberry and Satsuma plum, expressing hints of cedar and leather. Balanced acidity and fine-grained tannins reveal incredible length and depth.
