Steve Flamsteed goes south to uncover a different style of Pinot, a layered and powerful wine from southern Tasmania.

It's sourced from a single vineyard, and trucked and sailed from Coal River to the Yarra overnight. Some whole bunches were included in the ferment and the wine was matured in top-end French oak for eight months. Unfined and unfiltered.

Lots of dark fruit flavours, firm tannin on the sides and a good kick of acidity - serious quality all around.
